Originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Andrew Richardson moved to Yukon in 2006 to take up a position as English instructor at Yukon College. Between 2010 and 2013, he served as chair of the College's School of Liberal Arts and in 2014 became dean of Applied Arts.

Andrew holds degrees from Dalhousie University (PhD, English), University of Leeds (MA, English), and Mount Allison University (BA, English) and has taught English literature and composition at Dalhousie University, the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, NSCAD University, and Yukon College.

Andrew lives in Whitehorse with his partner Alyson Stopps; children Hugh, Harriet and Wilfred; and an Airedale Terrier and Standard Poodle. Outside of education, his interests include drumming, running, skiing, canine agility, and gardening.
