I hope you’ve all had a restful summer and took some time not to think about Yukon College at all. The fall term is fast approaching, so we’re about to enter a very busy period. In anticipation of the new term, here’s some news from across the Division:

I’m back from SOVA’s Year-End Exhibition—and what an exhibition! The students’ work was remarkable. They may be just starting out in the art world, but their work consistently displays an uncommon maturity. It was a great pleasure to acknowledge their creativity by handing out some well-earned certificates.
Now that I'm home, here are a few updates from the dean's office:
CAQC Site Visit: It's finally official! The dates for the CAQC organizational-level site visit are June 22 & 23. I think we're ready for this next step...
March has come and gone, so it seems like a good time for a dean's update. Let's get to it:
1. Institutional Re-alignment: As some of you might have already heard by now, the College will be re-aligning a number of units, effective July 1, 2017. Units and employees most directly affected by these changes were notified the week of Mar. 13th. A College-wide communication is being prepared right now, so stay tuned. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to send them my way by email or stop by for a chat.
This is my first attempt at using OpenScholar for my monthly dean's update. Previous to this, I've just emailed out updates to faculty and staff, but this will allow folks to subscribe to the blog via RSS feed or for me to simply email out a link to the blog whenever I've posted something new. We'll see how it goes.
