Margaret is a Maritimer by birth and a Yukoner by choice. She is originally from New Brunswick but grew up in Truro and Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to the Northwest Territories where she lived and worked for 20 years before heading further north and west, arriving in Whitehorse in January 2014.
Margaret holds a Master of Adult Education from St. Francix Xavier University (2009) and Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing from Dalhousie University (1984). She taught radio communication and weather observing in the Observer Commincator Program, and business courses in the Business Administration Program, as well as holding the position of Chair at Aurora College (Fort Smith, NWT). She holds the role of Dean, Applied Science and Management Division.
Maggie lives in Whitehorse with her husband and collie, and relishes the summer when two of her three children return from universities in Alberta. Other than education, she quilts, skis, attempts to garden, and enjoys the beauty of this place through long walks and longer drives.
